Athletic Association - Saint Mary Magdalene School

The St. Mary Magdalene Parish Athletic Association offers the students of St. Mary Magdalene School and Parish a wide range of opportunities for sports activities throughout the year. Girls and boys may participate in league and clinic sports for a minimal fee. Fees and fund raisers provide revenue to maintain the equipment and facilities. The Athletic Association meets the third Thursday of the month at 7:00pm at Minelli’s Restaurant on Wilson Road. Site changes are announced in the school newsletter or church bulletin.

The Western Knights football program has merged with the Western Irish to create one team.  The Western Irish was a combined teamof Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH) and St. Cecilia.  The program now includes:  OLPH, St. Cecilia, Trinity, St. Mary Magdalene and St. Mary's (German Village)

There are many advantages of a combined program, one of which is the ability to field an independent team for each grade, 4th-8th grades. Another advantage is the ability to have enough boys each year to always field teams.  Lastly, this merger also allows all feeder schools for Bishop Ready to compete together learning the same football basics that will be taught at the high school level, easing their transition to the high school level program.

The players and the coaches of the Western Knights are excited about the merger and we look forwarad to competing as the Western Irish.
