St. Mary Magdalene School, located on the west side of Columbus, Ohio, is a parish elementary school serving a large geographical area. The school is chartered by the State of Ohio and is fully accredited by the Ohio Catholic School Accreditation Association. The school celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2018 and will continue to be a vital part of this community. St. Mary Magdalene School has 251 students enrolled in grades K-8 as of October 31, 2019.

The school sits on a campus with the church and five other buildings. The academic program issupported by a band, art, physical education teachers, Title I teachers for math and reading, speech therapist, intervention specialist, ELL tutor and nurse. A modular building contains the computer lab serving 35 students at a time and the school library. At St. Mary Magdalene, academic excellence is achieved by recognizing diverse educational needs and celebrating those differences with strong educational practices. St. Mary Magdalene offers a 21st century education by using tablets, Chromebooks, SmartBoards and interactive T.V.’s to learn and feel comfortable utilizing the technology in today’s world.

Students receive religious instruction which includes Mass, preparation for sacraments, prayer, liturgical celebrations and service projects; Instruction from certified teachers. Low student/teacher ratio so your child receives the attention he or she deserves; Before and After School child care program for working parents; Football, volleyball, basketball, softball and other sports programs using multiple on-site athletic fields; Other extra curricular activities such as Scouting, choir, community service, band, student council, and Civics clubs.

Parents of St. Mary Magdalene School are encouraged to apply for diocesan tuition assistance if they are in need of help in meeting tuition expenses. In addition to the diocesan fund, St. Mary Magdalene has a parish assistance fund and also receives funds from the George and Mary Kremer Foundation, the Carol Flanagan Foot Steps Foundation, and the Children First Columbus Foundation.
